Jackie Sharpensteen

I am looking forward to a great school year.   A little bit about me.  I have been teaching since 1999, all at Oasis Elementary, we have a fantastic school!  I enjoy spending time with family, reading, landscape photography, the ocean, and drawing.   My former students would edit that list to include coffee, and they'd be correct!

I feel that for a successful year, communication between parents, their student, and myself are key.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns at any time.  Email is the quickest way to contact me.  I will communicate with you through notes in your childs' agenda, email, and phone calls.

It is vital that parents and guardians to review your child's agenda every night.  There will be important things listed there.  For example: upcoming tests, activities, missing homework and/or behavior notes if any occured that day.  Furthermore, your child will be required to have the agenda signed by you each night that they have explained homework or notes that are written.

In addition, sign up for a password to the Synergy gradebook to view your students scores on assignments, or as a subject area grade, at any time.  Just stop into the office with ID and they can issue you a password.  If you have already been assigned a password, you don't need to get a new one.   There is a link to the left for parents to log into the Synergy gradebook.   I will list activities and such on the website, however, of course notes specific to your child, will be in their agenda.
